Van Buren R1 unveiled a memorial to those who have graduated from the school district and completed their service in the Armed Forces. It was well attended by local veterans, community members, staff and students. We had the pleasure of hearing from Mike Schoelhamer, First Sergeant Retired, from Congressman Jason Smith’s Office as a guest speaker and Steve Bubanovich who played the Star Spangled Banner. Our High School Color Guard also presents the flags during the ceremony.
For those who have a service member among their family or friends who have completed their service and was a Van Buren R1 graduate and their name is not yet on the memorial, the district office can offer further assistance. Individuals are encouraged to contact the district office at 573-323-4281 for more information.

Our ceremony is tomorrow! The parking lot in front of the memorial will be blocked off to allow for veteran and community seating, starting at 10am. Our guest speaker is Mike Schoelhamer from Jason Smith's office. State Senator Jason Bean will also be in attendance. We hope to see you then!
