Van Buren R-1 will NOT be in session Monday, January 30 due to freezing rain and icy road conditions.


Congratulations to Lady Dawg Kinsley Murphy, she was selected to the all tournament team for the BSC conference tournament.

Congratulations to the JV Bulldogs, as they take first place in the BSC tournament today in Couch.


Join us in remembering and honoring the life of former Van Buren High School Principal and Board Member Mark Wood at a memorial service this evening at 6:00 pm in the high school gym. We invite the entire community to come out and pay their respects to a beloved leader and friend.

The Lady Dawgs travel to Thayer to play the Liberty Lady Eagles in the Winter Classic tonight at 5 pm.

Welcome back Sophia Keeney.
Sophia is a 2022 graduate and has completed her first semester of college at Missouri State-West Plains. Today Sophia came back to campus to share her freshman experiences with others. We are so proud of you Sophia and good luck as you begin your second semester.



Parents, Students, and Community: Random bag checks at the high school this morning were preventative in nature. Random bag checks are part of our safety measures. There was NO threat or incident.

The Lady Dawgs are back in action tonight against South Iron Lady Panthers. Game time is 5 pm. JV and V boys to follow.

Thursday, January 12 is the Carter County Showdown at VB.
Friday, January 13 is the Yellow Sucker Game at East Carter.
Starting on Monday, VB Junior High and High School will be gearing up for these games by participating in Spirit Week created by our very own VBHS Cheerleaders!!
We hope that our students and staff will help us boost our team spirit and support our teams!
